Arrogant bastard
January 14, 2007 – 2:53 pmOops, I couldn’t get the embed video html to work. Is a plugin really necessary for that? Here’s the google video link: Arrogant Bastard Ale.
UPDATE (by Jeff): I’ve added the embed HTML to the page, and it looks like it works. This video is of Greg reviewing Stone’s Arrogant Bastard Ale. I highly recommend you check out the video. It gives you a personal touch to the beer review that just can’t be duplicated by a printed blog post. Well done Greg.

Thank goodness they didn’t show that guys face. Oh wait, that was Greg? Oh… um… Well done Greg!
All joking aside, I saw the Oaked version down at Wild Oats last week. I think I might pick some up and give it a try.

Nice little review, a new twist on microbrew reviewing with the video. The head on that beer stood steadfastedly strong throughout the clip. That alone stamps Arrogant Bastard a “must try” in my book. I’ve tried it before and agree with Jeff that it’s definitely not an everyday beer but has a admirably complex flavor that evolves further as it warms (take your time sampling it, that head’s not going anywhere!). Oak Aged Arrogant Bastard is a little better in my opinion though I think the ABV is a little higher making that one even less of an “every day” craft beer, but still one worth trying and maybe having a bomber or two in the fridge when the urge strikes you. All the Stone offerings give me the impression they were truly produced with great care and interest in impressing those who’ve had their beers before and those trying for the first time equally. Very consistent quality and flavor with a small brew batch feel to every bottle (hard to find on tap in these parts back East). Great job and look forward to more video maybe with prying the cap or popping the cork and an impressive pouring too. Thanks!
